It seemed her years of barely eating were catching up to her, and she needed to eat quickly before she was caught dead down in the deepest layer of an oceanic hellscape. But no matter what she did, it didn’t seem to quiet down. Six grabbed at her stomach, as if trying to calm down a wild animal. However, even after eating all of her rations, her stomach had calmed a little, but had not ceased it’s grumbling, and her mind seemed to be convince her to go in search for more food. It was far greater than any hunger she had felt in the past, so she grabbed her extra rations she kept hidden behind the Suitcase, and dug into them, chomping into the bread and chips that she had saved for such an emergency.

It was painful, and she wanted to do anything to stop this intense hunger. Her belly was rumbling fiercely, loud enough for it to echo across the small room she was in. That is, until one day, when she woke up in her Suitcase much like any other day, but something was different. But until that day, she would stay inside of her suitcase home, occasionally meeting up with some Nomes, and try her best to survive under such horrible conditions. She didn’t want to live this kind of life anymore, she wished and prayed every night for the day that she could finally leave this horrible place.

Six made a home inside of a Suitcase one of the passengers on the Maw, it wasn’t much to look at, was rather uncomfortable to sleep in and comprised of just a few photos and newspaper scraps, but it helped Six survive nonetheless.ĭespite all of this, Six was desperate for a life outside the Maw. None who have entered the Maw have lived to tell the tale. Located in the middle of the sea, Six and all passengers aboard the gigantic submarine-building are unable to leave. The Maw itself was a vast complex that, despite being run by many employees, seemed to be in a constantly run-down and decrepit state. Her face a complete mystery to anyone who met her. Her Raincoat, on the other hand, she kept clean and wore all the time, leaving the hood up and never pulling it back. Six’s only form of clothing was her yellow raincoat and her underwear, which were plain white and ragged, but considering how Six always wore her raincoat, it was obviously not something she really cared about making look good. Their wrappings and cone hats cover up any visible, distinct features, which causes most of them to end up looking more or less the same, save a few height or shape differences, ranging from subtle to very obvious. Her only companionship was that of the Nomes, a race of even smaller creatures than she is who don’t seem to communicate through any actual language, more or less communicate through hand gestures, writings on the wall, or other means. Her weak, frail 9-year-old body was just barely able to survive in the depths of the Maw, where she had spent most of her time sneaking through air ducts, wooden beams and whatever secret pathways she could find. Hunger is the only thing Six knew for the longest time.
